NTI offers a complete turn key solution for all your scanning control needs. We offer a variety of ways to connect to a scanning system.

The most complete solution involves loading Windows based software onto a PC, Laptop or Embedded PC such as a PC-104 or similar device. Our WaveRunner software runs under Windows XP / Vista Embedded.

WaveRunner can be controlled locally through a monitor, mouse and keyboard or activated and controlled externally through a network connection to the PC. WaveRunner communicates via a USB 1.1 or 2.0 port to the SurfBoard-USB Laser / Scanner Controller.

The SurfBoard-USB Laser / Scanner Controller is a powerful USB based controller that can communicate with up to three scan axes, 6 inputs, 6 outputs, virtually any type of laser and motion control devices such as a rotary indexer, Z-focus stage and X/Y stages. On board flash can allow for storage of large jobs. Quadrature encoder inputs allow for Mark-On-The-Fly applications.

The SurfBoard-USB has an industry standard XY2-100 digital interface, which can communicate with most digital scan heads with an XY2-100 interface. If running with an Open Frame Head or Analog scan head, the SurfBoard-USB can communicate with an NTI D/A Receiver board, which in turn can send signals to up to three scanner servo driver amplifier boards.

The opto-isolated I/O on the SurfBoard-USB can control pointers, exhaust fans, conveyors and accept inputs from limit switches, start mark sensors and interlocks.

There are several laser output signals available for the proper handshaking with analog, 8-bit digital or Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) lasers such as CO2.

Motion control devices are controlled through an RS-232/485 interface.
